Vision Statement
To promote mental health and well being amongst vulnerable people in Yorkshire by engaging individuals in meaningful activities, with an emphasis on social inclusion, basic employment skills and personal development.

What is Orb Community Enterprise?
As a charitable organisation, Orb aims to give individuals with a mental health problem, particularly young people, the opportunity to ‘shine’ in a way that is meaningful to them and the wider community.

Working with Health, Social Services, and a wide range of community organisations it is intended that enterprise members will benefit from a supportive, flexible and realistic working environment in which they can acquire and develop basic employment skills, confidence and self esteem.

This project is part funded by Yorkshire Forward through the North Yorkshire - Developing Opportunities for a Rural County - Single Regeneration Budget (Round 6) Programme esteem.

Funding has also been provided from UnLtd and The Tudor Trust.

Where is the Enterprise based?
We are now based in central Harrogate at 'The Warehouse' on Harcourt Road, Harrogate. Facilities include a sound insulated audio and video production room, office space, and a large space configured for study / work, with meeting and 'chilling' areas.

What does the Enterprise provide?
Orb are able to provide at reasonable rates a wide range of equipment and facilities for private hire or public functions, including:

State of the art Sound Re-enforcement & Public Address systems
Generic and Intelligent Lighting systems
Skilled technicians and crew
Disco/DJ Facilities
Music Studio with recording facilities
Video and Sound Recording of Events
Digital Photography
Web site design
Creative activities and projects

We are particularly interested to speak with agencies working with young people and adults suffering from mental health problems, learning disabilities etc. who would benefit from the culturally and age appropriate activities and projects we offer. We also seek to work with community groups and organisations such as societies, clubs, schools and churches, who may require sound, lighting or multimedia support for events they are planning.
